TV and music makes a lot of wise sayings into clichés. Because we are denied this source of wisdom we lose common sense.

The thing that’s been keeping me sane lately is remembering how quick my moods go away. I always knew I was moody but when I was in a mood I couldn’t remember that it was a temporary thing. Now I appreciate how much reason is a slave to emotion and know that my thoughts are only for the moment.

The body cycles – you’ve gotta make sure you respect that you can’t change this fact. You can only manage it. When you’re in a positive period you’ve gotta take breaks and allow for downtime otherwise the body will slam you into a depression/hibernation. Peaks and troughs should be softened. If reincarnation’s true then there might be cycles that continue throughout lifetimes. If you succeed 2 much you might have to 2 take a breather as a retard in the next life. If you’re famous and powerful when you die, you’ll be pissed as a helpless child, be troubled and then try to break out by getting famous again or being a criminal.

Lil Kim

Lil Kim’s attitude to sex is hot. She isn’t afraid of her own misophally, aggression.

Levels of patterns analogy

Everything is an illusion/falsity blended out of other illusions. It’s like colours being blended out of the three primary colours. The three colours are just different components of the ultimate colour white.

When we look at the world, it’s a big mess of instances. We start discerning patterns (making out individual colours - note that humans’ concepts of colour come from both nature and culture), then patterns within the patterns.

Stupid people might be able to pick out patterns like “orange, green and brown have yellow in them”. Intuitively smart people might know a large number of patterns, instinctively know the relationships between colours and can colour co-ordinate well. Analytically smart people might know the patterns of pixels that go into colours. But to have nirvana-knowledge you have to know all of the above and the fact that all colours are ultimately a dislocated fragment of white.

Comedy and non-integration

Often comedy is weird insights / twists on life that the comedian can’t integrate into a broader philosophy. The thought exhausts itself as a joke.

Language incongruence

In the Tractatus Wittgenstein showed nothing more than that language, just like the other modes of human activity/being, is incongruent to the other modes. It’s internally consistent. Thus philosophy should be dabbled with in an isolated box. We shouldn’t try to match it up to anything else. Or if we do, we should do it with the above assumption in mind.

Denial stories

I’m so over listening to other people’s stories they’ve constructed for themselves so they can go into denial. They’re much less imaginative and convincing than mine.

Pop rock and straight guys

Triple M type rock is a way for straight guys to let out their gay side in way that’s socially acceptable. Emotions, pining over partners, melodramatic / highly stylised vocals, males only (like a change room), phallic guitars. Licence to wear camp stuff and strut like a fairy as long as theirs a droning guitar somewhere sounding like the deep groans coming from the throat of your gay lover.

Evil Bush

George W Bush is evil. He’s the son of a president = dynasty = scary. Obviously uneducated about quite simple issues, like the general whereabouts of other countries. He gets massive boils every time something goes wrong. Mispronounces words. Obviously a puppet. He is an ex-coke addict, ex-alcoholic. He’s involved with oil companies = evil, destructive soul. He doesn’t know even the most widely known facts about pop culture like who Britney Spears is. Presided over the most executions of any state Governor in America’s history.

Word conversion

I can go from definition/image/face/sound to name/word easier than vice versa.

Language competition

Language is new to us and it shows. We’re a bunch of kids obsessed with a new toy. We think it’s the be-all, end-all. We translate everything into language. Things are only verified / made real / noticed when firmly enshrouded in language.

We compete with each other through language. 6 billion people competing to be heard. That’s why no one ever wants to listen. Every fucker just can’t wait to talk at you for no other reason than their own existential angst. And when their mouths are denied the opportunity to talk, they keep them busy by shoving food and cigarettes into them. Their mouth are finely tuned instruments but their bodies and minds are decaying. Particularly insecure people try to cling to relevance by writing books (effectively jumping on a megaphone).

Language is a tool. It can be of aesthetic value in itself. It is one small aspect of human life and we should accord it the importance it deserves.

When it is turned on itself, problems arise. Humans with language-talent should not be overvalued - it’s just one small life talent. We should remember that, like any tool, it can be monopolised, misused, used for manipulation, etc. Most of all, to return language to its proper place in healthy human life, we should stop using it to silence each other but instead just shut up ourselves and express ourselves in other ways.

Investment in posterity

Species evolve to invest in the welfare of their descendants. Humans in the West are suppressing this instinct. We’re destroying the planet, endangering our descendants. Absent fathers. Tight underwear. Late parenthood. Genetic manipulation / interference of all forms.

It’s interesting that this lack of concern for our posterity is reflected in our economic systems and stock markets. Investment in a company has more to do with the vicissitudes of the meta-world that is the stock market than the actual economy that this meta-world leaches off. So prices have little to do with the long term viability of a company and the decisions of the company have little to do with protecting even their own long term interests.

Anyway, I think that this is probably just part of a cycle. Our underlying drive for genetic propagation will overcome our more superficial drives. Like with Rome. Their personal gods saw that the lead poisoning, the homosexuality, the craziness (gladiators = “Survivor”) was jeopardising the bloodline so they collectively brought down the Empire. Notice that the memes and genes of Rome lived on. In 1000 years’ time the dominant Empire on Earth will be using English for the scientific names of obscure new viruses.

Walkabout therapy

Humans should be allowed to go walkabout from their jobs, families etc once in a while. Depression can be self-repairing in natural surrounds. You withdraw, pull cones, shut yourself off from all stimuli. Eventually you get bored and put some music on and call someone. But if this natural self-repair process is disrupted by outside pressures you keep functioning by external measures but your body and mind sustain permanent injuries. If the injuries pile up you can end up breaking down.

Study meteorology

Should study a bit of meteorology so I can learn a bit about patterns and interactions of cycles.
